Our Team

David J. Blair, Partner

David is a partner and the founder of PNC Mezzanine Capital. After joining PNC Equity Management Corp in 1987, he founded PNC Mezzanine Capital in 1989. David was a founding member and later president of White River Capital, a bank-affiliated private equity fund and was a commercial banking officer at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co.

Currently, he is a director of VWS Holdco, Inc. (Virginia Waste Services) and Wheaton Industries, Inc. David is also responsible for PNC's investment in Davis-Standard, LLC. David was previously a director of ABP Corporation, Bolttech, Inc., Brandt, Inc., The CAPS Group, LLC, DeVlieg-Bullard, Inc., Global Promo Group, Inc., Jeffrey Chain Corp., M.Kamenstein, Inc., National Picture & Frame Co., S.R. Smith, LLC, Stiffel, Inc. and Weasler Engineering Co. David also had oversight responsibility for PNC's former investments in All-Pak, Utiliserve, Wastequip, Inc. and Vision-Ease Lens, Inc. He was formerly a member of the executive committee for the Northeastern Regional Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NERASBIC) and a past president and director of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association.

David has a B.A. in Economics from Williams College and an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Preston G. Walsh, Partner

Preston joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in 1995, after serving as a financial analyst with Brentwood Associates, a venture capital and leveraged buyout firm. Prior to Brentwood Associates, he was a financial analyst in the merchant banking division of Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. During business school, Preston was an associate at TCW/Crescent Capital Corporation, an investment firm focused on below investment-grade and mezzanine securities.

Preston is a director of Century Mold Co., Inc., Stampede Meat, Inc. and Metal Spinners, Inc. and has oversight responsibility for PNC's investment in InterFace Solutions, Inc. Preston was previously a director of Avborne, Inc., the Hunt Valve Company, The Riddell Sports Group, Inc., Stiffel, Inc., the Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, Inc., UrbanCableworks LLC, and The Windy Hill Pet Food Company, Inc. as well as had oversight for PNC’s former investments in Seaboard International Inc., Global Material Technologies, Inc., J.R. Moon Pencil Company and Mike Rose Foods, Inc..

Preston has degrees in economics and engineering with honors from Princeton University, and an M.B.A. from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA , where he was a venture capital fellow.

Robert M. Marsh, Partner

Rob joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in 1998, coming from the high-yield bond group at Federated Investors. As an Assistant Vice President, he was responsible for deciding on investments in a variety of industries, predominantly energy, finance, leisure and shipping. During business school, Rob worked for the treasury department at PPG Industries. Prior to business school, Rob was a junior analyst with Neuberger & Berman, Inc., a money management firm.

Rob's a director of Sport & Health Holdings, LLC and is responsible for PNC's investments in Corvest, Gorell, IntelliRisk, and KB Alloys. Rob was previously a director of ABP Corporation, ACI Electronics, LLC, The CAPS Group, LLC and had oversight responsibilities for PNC’s former investments in Communication Dynamics, Inc. and Berkline/Benchcraft. Rob is also an independent director of American Textile Corp., a family-owned manufacturer of bedding textiles. Rob is also a board member of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).

Rob has a B.A. in economics from Bucknell University, and an M.S.I.A. degree from Carnegie Mellon University’s Graduate School of Industrial Administration. He received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1997.

Douglas P. Brosius, Managing Director

Doug rejoined PNC Mezzanine Capital in June 2004 after serving from 2000 - 2002 as an associate, where he evaluated and executed investments. Prior to joining PNC, Doug was an investment banking analyst at Parker/Hunter Incorporated, where he provided M&A advisory services to publicly-traded and privately-held middle market companies in a broad range of industries. During business school, Doug was an investment banking associate in the Technology & Communications Group at Raymond James & Associates.

Doug is a director of Cape Electrical Supply, LLC, Century Mold Co., Inc. and VWS Holdco, Inc. (Virginia Waste Services) and has oversight responsibility for PNC’s investments in AAMP of America and Citadel Plastics Holdings, Inc. Doug was previously a director of ACI Electronics, LLC.

Doug received a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science with high honors from Westminster College and an M.B.A from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

B. Douglas Phillips, Vice President

Doug joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in November 2002. Prior to joining PNC, Doug was an investment banking analyst in the Leveraged Capital Group with Wachovia Securities, where he specialized in financial sponsor transactions. At Wachovia, Doug supported the origination, underwriting and syndication of leveraged bank loans, mezzanine debt issues and private equity investments across a broad range of industries.

Doug is a director of Metal Spinners, Inc. and was previously a director of Bolttech, Inc.

Doug received a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler Graduate School of Business at the University of North Carolina where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honorary business society.

Robert B. Codol, Senior Associate

Rob joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in July 2007. Previously, Rob was an Analyst for The Sterling Group, L.P., where he evaluated and executed leveraged buyout investments in industrial companies. Prior to joining Sterling, Rob was an Associate Consultant for L.E.K. Consulting LLC where he provided strategic, financial and operational advisory services to a broad range of clients.

Rob is a director of VWS Holdco, Inc. (Virginia Waste Services).

Rob received a B.A. in economics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, with high honors.

Lamar D. Horne, Associate

Lamar joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in June 2008. Prior to joining PNC Mezzanine, Lamar was an Analyst with Wachovia Securities in its Leveraged Finance Group, where he worked on the underwriting and syndication of leveraged bank loans for middle market companies across a broad range of industries. Prior to Wachovia Securities, Lamar worked as a corporate finance intern with UBS Investment Bank in the Technology Division.

Lamar is a graduate of Morehouse College with a concentration in Finance.

Robert S. Burton, Associate

Rob joined PNC Mezzanine in May 2010. Previously, Rob was an Associate with Barclays Structured Principal Investing where he evaluated, structured, and invested in leveraged debt issuances by middle-market companies. Prior to his work with Barclays Structured Principal Investing, Rob was an Associate within Barclays' Leveraged Finance Group, where he supported the origination, underwriting and syndication of leveraged loans and high yield bonds. Before joining Barclays, Rob was an Analyst within JPMorgan's Natural Resources Group, providing M&A and corporate finance advisory services to the Chemicals and Oil & Gas industries.

Rob received a B.A. in Economics with a Concentration on Financial Markets from Colby College.

Thomas Vo, Associate

Thomas Vo, Associate, joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in July 2010. Prior to joining PNC Mezzanine, Thomas was an analyst with Stephens Inc. in its Investment Banking Division, where he primarily focused on mergers & acquisitions for middle market companies across a broad range of industries. Prior to Stephens Inc., Thomas worked as an intern with Wachovia Securities.

Thomas received a B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Economics and a minor in Chemistry with high honors from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

Deanna B. Barry, Chief Financial Officer

Dee joined PNC Equity Management Corp in 1996. Previously, Dee was an Assistant Vice President with PNC Bank Corp.’s SEC reporting group and was an audit supervisor in the financial services industry for KPMG Peat Marwick.

Dee is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. degree in Business Administration with highest honors from Duquesne University.

Steven A. Heaps, Controller

Steve joined PNC Equity Management in July 2005. Previously, Steve held several Financial Management positions within PNC’s Management Accounting Department. Before joining PNC, he was a Financial Analyst at Mellon Financial Services and Gulf Oil Corporation.

Steve is a Certified Management Accountant and he received a Masters degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in 1983.

Michele A. Green, Administrative Assistant

Michele joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in 1993. Michele is responsible for office management and project support and coordinates all PNC Mezzanine Capital's day to day activities. Michele received an A.A. degree in Business Administration from Bradford Business School.

Evelyn I. Morrow, Administrative Assistant

Evelyn joined PNC Mezzanine Capital in August 2006. Evelyn provides administrative and project support and coordinates all PNC Mezzanine Capital’s daily activities. Prior to joining PNC, Evelyn was a Conference & Outreach Coordinator at UPMC Health System; she coordinated special events and the outreach program at their regional hospitals. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant at Children’s Hospital in the Early Childhood Partnerships. Evelyn has an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Sawyer Business School.
